My hair is thinning!!?

I'm sure it's due to chemical damage. I had a bad highlight last June, a permanent straightener in October, and extensions in January. I got the extensions removed yesterday and I'm back to my thin short mess. It looks just like it did before I got the extensions, but I used to have a head full of frizzy curly hair, and now it's not really straight or curly, just fuzzy and SUPER super thin. I have to use the blowdryer and even then, it's like thin thin!! I can't get it to do anything. It's about chin length and in layers due to having to get some of the damage cut out. I'm wondering if I should go to the Hair Club for Men/Women. I'm only 33 and I'm bad depressed about this. I'm scared it will never grow back. I'm on hair vitamins and am drinking hair shakes, I've tried putting juice of a root on it. I've tried horse mane n tail shampoo. I've tried it all.I even had my thyroid and hormones tested - NORMAL. I have a family and can't do anything but mope around. I am caucasion

My fiancee is going through the same thing. She is a scratcher and constantly doing so. She also puts chemicals and dyes in her hair. I heard that the damage may take years to show up. In your case, stress may be the biggest factor.

Leave it alone!!! Let it grow in for a month or two and then see what you've got. Just use normal soap for a while.

i used to have the same problem but i'm asian and i dont know is this gonna work on you..This is the traditional cure..firstly, find the coconut and take the coconut milk. and then just pour coconut milk on your head and leave it for 10 min and then you shampoo like usual within a week you'll find it much better..

Have a try..and good luck..

kay! this may sound weird but try putting coconut oil in ur hair! it makes it thicker and better! but while its in ur hair it'll make the hair look thinner but if u apply it regularly like once a week ur hair may look better! also leave ur hair in the oil for about two days..

It is from the damage you have done to your hair. Even the things yo are trying to do to make your hair heathly are still damaging your hair; like blowdrying it, because it gets rid of your hairs moisture. Your hair might eventually grow back in and fill out but it will take a while. I think you should go to a professional hair stylest and ask there opinion on what to do to make your hair healthy again. If you are under a lot of stress your hair could be falling out and make this worse. I hope this helps.

The only way to fix your hair is to leave it alone.

I've seen women go bald from dying and curling/straigtening thier hair. I think women lose thier hair as they age as it is...but if you don't take care of it along the way, in the end it's even worse.

I had massive tons of luminous hair when I was in my 20s too...but in m 40s, it's not exactly thin, but it's not that huge mane it once was.

You simply must condition it and use good products to protect it and too bad it's all about dying your hair because in the end, and especially with girls starting off in childhood dying and streaking hair...you are going to see a lot more of chemically damaged hair at a long younger age than the past...and don't be surprised if a rise in cancer comes along with that.
